Editor’s Updates – Page 11

The below date is not an error! It’s been quite some time since our last trip update! I’ll try to do better!

6/14/2022: This will be our Oregon ‘loop’ trip, typical for our early-summer activity. We left this am heading north from our home-base in the Sacramento area of Northern California, looking to spend the night in Klamath falls, Oregon, about 315 miles up the I-5 & US – 97. Our RV site for tonight will be The KOA RV & Campground in Klamath. This park is full-featured, clean, not far off the road, and with a very friendly staff. Our perfect on-the-way one-nighter!

6/15/2022: Today we are destined for Crooked River Ranch www.crookedriverranch.com . Having never had the opportunity to stay here before, this is all new, and exciting to us! The trip north from Klamath along US-97, takes us through Bend (another fun destination!) and north past Redmond to exit at NW Lower Bridge Way, (NOTE: If you are visiting the Crooked River Ranch Park, please use their driving directions…it can be tricky) You will stay at ground level for a couple of miles before descending into the river canyon. Beautiful! Perhaps half-way down to the river, there is a plateau, on which the Ranch rests.

The golf here is great! The bars and restaurants are perfect! The Resort is fun and friendly! All at a very comfortable price! I recommend you check it out…..really!

The resort is about 1/2 way down the canyon…
About 1/2 our group after dinner...great folks!
Most of our group (thru my windshield) Great folks!

6/20/2022: Our stay at Cooked River is altogether too short, as we leave this morning for Lebanon, Oregon, just 109 miles west, (through Sisters) and our summer mainstay; Mallard Creek RV resort & Golf Club www.mallardcreekgc.com.

Mallard is a really fun, friendly little park (I think about 43 sites) packaged with their own, challenging 18-hole golf course! We`ve been here several years, and it’s always a blast. We join several others here, mostly fellow RV neighbors from our winter digs in the desert (that would be Outdoor Resorts Indio https://orindio.com ). Our review on Mallard Creek is found under Oregon RV Resorts on this site.

7/6/2022: Our 2-week visit over, we are headed for home. We`ll take I-5 South all the way back to Sacramento, stopping only once at Yreka (our favored overnight at Yreka RV www.yrekarvpark.com ) This is virtually the half-way point in this leg, making it about perfect. Its’s fairly new, clean, friendly, and just off the highway.

7/7/2022: This morning its just 270 miles and we are home. We already have plans to repeat this party next year!
